Release #20 - RitsuMio Valentine's

Back to daily releases for a little bit? Who knows!

Getting real sick of tiny manga. Ritsu a cute tho
Another super short little Pixiv manga by Okeya, not much to say this time. The next few releases will definitely be longer than this. Probably.

As always, hope you enjoy the comic!

Release #19 - kenhou 4-koma

The releases continue! Releases have slowed down significantly as we turn our attention to longer projects and work outside of just this little group. We still have four more short K-On! releases to get to. No promises on when we get there, though.

Squish

Today's release is by kenhou, a lovely Pixiv artist who draws these silly, slightly inter-connected short strips of a variety of series. Their K-On! stuff is stupid, silly, and crack-y. For now, we're packaging up 8 pages of releases from Danbooru as a single release. Sometime in the future, we'll look to make a few more releases out of their dozens of Pixiv comics.

As always, we hope you enjoy the comic.

Release #18 - YuiAzu Manga

Today's release is short and sweet YuiAzu that Floofy found on Pixiv and really liked. So, we did it!

This seems like it would've been a fun one to go all-out on with sfx and stuff, but...we're currently suffering a massive heat wave here, and I have no AC. The focus and dedication required is just too much for a dying person like me. Please send your spare AC units to FFF Headquarters! Thank you in advance. This artist has some more stuffs around, and some already translated on Danbooru. Maybe we'll see a bit more of their work soon? Only time will tell.

I think we'll continue on through Thursday? Which gives us four more releases. But four seems a little bit slim, so maybe we'll go on for longer. As always, enjoy the comic!

Release #17 - January 15th

Back again! So, good news and bad news. The bad news, we made a really, really dumb error yesterday and ended up releasing something that Yuri in Wonderland had completed...like 5 years ago. That sucked! The good news? Well first, there actually *is* a Kumichou comic we plan to do in the near future, and second, we have a release today that - I really really hope this is the case! - hasn't made its way to Dynasty previously.

Mio is cute.

This is a quick 3-pager by the super prolific and awesome Okeya. Definitely a favourite of mine and definitely someone who we'll return to in the future, likely more than a few times! The original title is "いいかげんにしてください" which is a fairly standard phrase that comes up a lot, meaning something like, "Treat me well" or "Please take care of me." But the title doesn't have much to do with the comic in any way that is easily transferable to an English audience, so instead we opted for a different, hopefully appropriate title.

On the topic of translations, the third page of this comic uses multiple ways of expressing a single sentiment - "I love you." Ritsu begins by using 愛, the kanji for "love." As she repeats this, the exact expression changes slightly, from "いしてるよ" to "いしてるず" till eventually her expression is entirely represented in hiragana as "あいしてる." It's a very neat - and very Japanese - way of expressing the same sentiment and essential meaning a bunch of slightly different ways. We considered opting for variations like "I adore you" or "I treasure you," or alternating between "I like you" and "I love you," or just experimenting with different fonts - but ultimately I didn't find any of these methods really do it justice. In this case, our release is a very straightforward interpretation - and hopefully not too much meaning was lost in the process.

Interestingly, another Pixiv user also put this into fanfiction form. Maybe we'll translate that someday, just for fun? Who knows. Thank you very much for reading, enjoy the comic as always!

Release #16 - Happy Birthday Yui!

And so K-On week continues with, finally, a YuiAzu release.

I'm almost certain this has been scanlated before, but I couldn't find it with any rapid searches, so I figured, why not just do it myself? For that matter, I'm certain a lot of what we're doing at the moment is that way, but if it's not on Google and not on Dynasty...does that even count as scanlated? Who knows. Anyway, this is by Kumichou, who is the real MVP of doujin artists. Forreal, go read all their work. I dare you.

Given recent events, I remain unsure if we'll continue to work on K-On! for the rest of the week as originally planned. Time will tell.
I'd also like to take a moment to thank FloofyAnon, who has been a consistent source of assistance with little QCs and translation questions since we began. This one's for you, FloofyAnon!

As always, enjoy the comic!

Release #15 - Ritsu and Mio by Kanbayashi Makoto

Like many other K-On! fans out there, we carry very heavy hearts today. It seems there's very little one can say or do at times like these, but we'd like to extend our best thoughts and wishes to all at KyoAni, and those in their immediate spheres.

Three releases and still no YuiAzu. What is this cruel, cruel world?

For everyone else, it is at times like these especially that fiction can provide an escape from the harsh realities of the world. Today, we bring you the aptly-named Ritsu and Mio by Kanbayashi Makoto. Mushiyaki, as their circle name goes, is a highly prolific doujin artist - you've likely read their Yuru Yuri, K-On!, or Love Live! works in the past. Mushiyaki is a personal favourite of mine, and we most certainly plan to work on more of their K-On! and Yuru Yuri works in the future.

Tomorrow's release is either short, sweet, and Yui; or it's a little bit more substantial, silly and varied. Not sure yet! For now we bid adieu, enjoy the comic!

Release #14 - Counting Ritsu's - K-On! Week Begins

K-On! Week begins!

...on a Wednesday. I said I'd take a day off, and then it turned into three. You can never trust yuri blogs, after all...

As we go along through this week, I'll also be revising the blog a little bit more for organizational purposes. We have big plans for the future! Best to lay the groundwork now, or something.

Not Representative Of The Content Therein. No Warranty Provided. Returns Not Accepted.
Today we bring two very short and sweet releases by Shimofuri Kaeru. The first involving the lovely Nodoka x Yui pair, and the second involving the slightly more traditional Mitsu. Not too much to say about these, tomorrow will bring a substantially longer release by a personal favourite of mine.

Please look forward to it! Long live Mitsu!

Release #13 - Hairdye (PriPri dj)

Yo!

So, this was not the planned release. But the planned release has already been released. While we will release that release eventually, it's not something I want to feature during the daily July releases. Feels kind of like cheating. So instead, we're releasing a 3-pager with like, 5 bubbles! So we ask, is this really any better than just re-releasing something? That's for you to decide.

Phew~
Short, sweet, quick-ship material. I like this artist too, and they are dedicated to that PriPri! Definitely look forward to more from them, but not anything too soon. Next week is K-On! week (don't hold me to that, please), and the week after that will be something else themed, probably. Or maybe do look forward to it soon. Who even knows at this point.

I'm ill (and also busy, brb crying) the last few days, so we may be taking tomorrow off. This will not be that - "I need a day off" thing and then the blog disappears into oblivion as inevitably happens with every yuri blog. I promise. You know what else yuri blogs do? Make empty promises. Then disappear into oblivion. It's not looking good for us, folks...

Anyway, please enjoy the comic.

Release # 12 - Midnight Rendevous with the Black Lizard (PriPri dj)

Yo!

I like that word, "yo." I was working on something recently that made go, wait a second. Am I valley girl? Do I sound like that in real life? Is that what this is? In reality, it's probably more like I'm a surfer dude. So that's upsetting. Still, I like "yo."

I also really like this artist, tsuta no ha! Not only good at drawing, but also quite prolific in her output, long-lived (a rarity for fan artists!), and a kinda charming Twitter follow. Highly recommended in every which way. She's also responsible for like, half the Princess Principal releases on Dynasty! As a 3hz fangirl myself, this gives her instant Legend status.
Gay even when tiny, the Gay Agenda™ at work no doubt.

Today's release is a short Twitter comic involving Ange and Princess about to...well, express their very deep, homosexual feelings for one another. One of the tweets has a funny joke about Ange's brakes being "famous for not working." Puns, ho! There is still a bunch of great, short Twitter/Pixiv comics out there of PriPri (many by this same artist) to be done, so definitely look forward to more in the future! Yes, I'll keep saying that about everything we release until eventually you'll realise it's just a ploy to keep you coming here, hoping for more of whatever you liked. Shame. Sad.

Thanks for reading as always, enjoy!

Release #11 - Aya-Cir Valentine

We return with a rarepair, another quick Danbooru thing, and also more Touhou.

They cute
This pairing has exactly one chapter released on Dynasty, and only a few artists interested in it, from what I've seen. This particular artist draws them as a pure-type couple. I'm all on board with this. Look forward to a few more Aya-Cirno's in the future!

Thanks for reading as always. May yuri conquer the earth!

Release #10 - Ooi and Kashima Living Together

My streak is broken! Alas...

Not that it's too big of a deal. I was intending to release something I solo'd today, but then I ran into a translation issue that had my head spinning, then I ended up getting caught in various tertiary scanlation troubles. The world of scanlation is full of work, heartache, and angst. Never join, folks. Moving on...

In the end we fell back on some more quick and dirty Danbooru edits. Today it is Kantai Collection! I don't follow Kantai Collection. I don't know anything about it outside of some gay doujins, really. I just happened to stumble upon this little Twitter series whilst browsing, and I really liked the art, so I thought, "I have to do this one." Thus, here we are.

Ooi is cute.
There are currently (at least) three more entries featuring these two, which we'll squeeze into our otherwise full release schedule, somehow. The last one was released just a day or two ago, so I'm hoping it'll continue to be released natively as well! Time will tell.

As always, thanks very much for reading. May yuri conquer the earth!

Daily Blog Posting? - Yui x Akari Fun Comic

Maybe we can manage daily blog posts after all?

I just watched the Yuru Yuri OVAs for the first time, so today's release is a short Yuru Yuri comic featuring Yui and Akari! Maybe we should rename the group "Fighting for Rarepairs!" (?)

YuiAka is real.

This artist's work is a little rough, but it's generally short and sweet from what I skimmed through. They are also a very nice person to chat with! This translation is posted with their blessing. Definitely expect to see more from them and this pair in the not-too-distant future. For the next few weeks I'll likely be doing purely quick and dirty edits from Danbooru translations. It's a whole lot quicker than translating myself, and it will (hopefully) allow me to spend more time refining my Japanese and working on longer-term projects.

Thanks for reading as always, enjoy the comic.

Five New Releases + Dennou Coil

I'm not sure if I'm the type who's cut out for a blog. Getting the releases out is easy enough, but then I'm sitting there too tired to bother with a blog post. Who reads them, anyway? Doesn't seem worth the effort. It's that kind of feeling. Alas, we press on.

We're still getting daily releases on Dynasty, and daily releases were the real goal, so I'm pleased with this much. Today's release is by typical Touhou Project doujinshi artist Bon, it's a tiny (in more ways than one) Dennou Coil comic featuring some true crack. We love rare pairs, so this works out beautifully for us. The comic was a *huge pain* to work on, though. So that didn't work out so beautifully.

Getting kissed by girls is rough. What if you got pregnant?!
We're big fans of this "doth protest too much" type of yuri. Plus it's a hateship. What's not to love about this little comic??? (my wrists, ow) If anyone happens to have any short, gay Dennou Coil comics or images out there, please feel free to send them to us! With a comment here or to our e-mail!! We fully intend to get to some longer doujinshi for this series later in the year, but for now we'll settle for cute and quick shorts.

Before I hop off for the day, there's one more release of note to discuss. We picked up Yuri Manga for Studying Japanese by the illustrious Garun, not having realised that it was already released on Mangadex by someone else. Can you tell we only read stuff on Dynasty? Anyway. It got a variety of comments, a few of which were critical of how we decided to present some parts. I stand by the release and think the one on Mangadex goes overboard attempting to communicate Japanese nuances to a primarily English readership that isn't reading for that purpose. This goes double so when the original is presented solely in Japanese. However, I still found value in the criticism and feel like there's some happier medium to be reached. Perhaps we'll release a slightly updated version soon? Who knows.

Thank you for reading as always. Forever onward.

Natural Gigolo Yui - Releases #2 and #3

I'd like to release something every day throughout July - "But you've already missed a day!" one might say. Well actually, blog post aside, we still had an upload make it to the Dynasty Reader. So we're in the clear! Today we bring you that doujin, a super gay Saki Hisa/Mihoko work by FuD.

Secondly, we bring a K-On! comic I'm certain has been typesetted dozens of times at this point, but still has never made it to the Dynasty Reader for...reasons unknown. The title is "Natural Gigolo Yui" by the prolific - at least in a Pixiv sense - Shimofuri Kaeru.

Yui was this smooth in the anime, too.
As the title implies, it's a short little 4-koma of Yui being super suave! Suave Yui best Yui? Not sure about that one. Given that I'm a newbie translator and Japanese work is very strenuous, expect us to oscillate between really short, simple works, and whatever we can pillage (and hopefully improve upon) from Danbooru translators for a while. This release is made possible by Evangeline A.K. McDowell, of Danbooru. The FuD work, titled APP, was made possible by zaregoto, without whom it certainly would not have been possible, given that I can't interpret even the most basic Chinese! We ought to whip up a standard credits page so we can credit people outside the group...

Yo, have fun reading~!

"Talking About First Kisses" by Kiryuu Suruga - We're Back! With a Kissing Comic

Because nobody ever really dies, you know? Unfortunately the old blog is deader than dead, given that I apparently deleted the e-mail address associated with it. Why would I do that? Alas, we must move on!

They definitely aren't gay for each other.
Kissing comics are always my favourite. Some really popular yuri series can go on for volumes at a time with no kisses. Meanwhile, some little Pixiv comics manage to squeeze 10+ kisses into like, 3 pages. Not that this comic has any kisses either. Sad. I suppose in a way, this is the balance of the universe - as foretold by Homucifer, or something.

I don't know anything about Hibike! Euphonium besides what little I've read in doujins and the bevvy of debates it draws in yuri communities. I don't intend to watch it anytime soon, but the doujins are really cute! So there will definitely be some more in the future.
I considered playing a little rhetorical game with a prize at the end - how many gays can you fit into one, 8-page comic? How many fonts can you fit into a single page full of angsty gays? Which would be greater? That's the sort of thing we ponder when trying to remember what that squiggly font we liked was called. Or whether there isn't some way around using "insensitive" twice on the same page. Scanlation is tough. We'll keep at it.

You can read this comic on the Dynasty Reader or download it from mediafire for your personal use. I hope you enjoy the little comic as much as we enjoyed working on it! Look forward to more from us soon!
